The history of Ray Ban can be dated back all the way to the 1937 when medical equipment manufacturer Bausch & Lomb, where asked to create army pilot sunglasses that would stop his men suffering headaches and nausea caused by the intense blue and white hues of the sky. After the birth of the Aviator, Ray-Ban continued to set the world trend for sunglasses and introduced the ever popular Wayfarer 1953. The stylish Wayfarer can been seen worn by James Dean, in the Hollywood blockbuster Rebel Without A Cause in 1955.
After a successful period during the 1960s and 70s, Ray-Ban was once again centre stage in several Hollywood hits during the 1980s including The Blues Brothers, Risky Business and Top Gun.
